Yarburgh Wright hits it right at 2000 GNS
The early First Choice Sale of Berrichons at Worcester Market saw a top call of 2000gns for the Yearling Ram Yarburgh Wright from Mrs J Bett.
The powerful Yearling Ram had been placed Champion Continental at Newark Show and attracted plenty of potential purchasers before being sold on the phone to G B Thomas, Pontarddulais, Swansea for their Goitre Flock.
Overall Champion on the day went to D Whitcher, with her ram lamb Galtres Yanai. Combining some of the best bloodlines that northern breeders have to offer, he sold for 1100gns to the Judge of the day, Mr J Yeo for his Incledon Flock, Devon.
The Female Champion topped the female trade at 1300gns. This lovely yearling ewe from the Janos Flock of Mr Bryan Evans, was the first female to be sold from his top female line including Royal Highland Show and Royal Welsh Show winners, after plenty of interest she was again knocked down by the judge Mr J Yeo. Mr Yeo continued his day of purchasing quality, when he took two more yearling ewes back to Devon with him, both at 1200gns a piece. The first was the second prize yearling ewe from Mrs J Bett’s Yarburgh Flock and the second a Marshland bred yearling ewe again from Mr B Evans.
